Shakespeare in Performance

 

Michael Flachmann, Professor of English, recently published his fifteenth book, Shakespeare in Performance: Inside the Creative Process (University of Utah Press), a collection of program notes and actor interviews at the Tony-Award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival, where he has been company dramaturg for the past 25 years and directs a summer program called “Camp Shakespeare.”

He also had one of his plays, Blood Royal (an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “HenryVI”  trilogy) produced in Phoenix, Arizona, by the Southwest Shakespeare Company. He and his wife, Dr. Kim Flachmann, have recently published Nexus: A Rhetorical Reader for Writers (Pearson Publishing Company). Michael also continues to chair the CSUB Honors Program.
