Dr. Jorge Talamantes Rivera, Chair of the Department of Physics & Engineering was selected for the competitive U. S. Department of Agriculture’s 2012 E. Kika De La Garza Fellowship Program.  As an Education Fellow, Talamantes will be part of a dynamic network of leaders from academia, government, and non-profit organizations that work to advance the excellence of education at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). This two-year fellowship offers faculty and staff from HSIs the opportunity to work collaboratively with USDA.  More information.

Dr. Thomas Meyer to Speak About His Family’s Experience in Nazi Germany

As part of the Stiern Library’s on-going Walter Presents series,  Physics and Engineering Professor, Dr. Thomas Meyer,  will speak on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. in the Library’s Dezember Reading Room. Dr. Meyer will speak about “The Meyers: The Story of a Jewish-Christian Family and Their Experiences in Nazi and Post-War Divided Germany.” The presentation is sponsored by  the Walter Stiern Library and the CSUB Institute for Religion, Education & Public Policy.  More information.
