CSUB has launched a new bachelor’s degree in Global Intelligence and National Security. The degree program was highlighted this afternoon when Carl Beckett, Resident Agent in Charge at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, gave a keynote address on careers in federal law enforcement. With one CSUB intern already in place, Mr. Beckett will be recruiting two more interns. His presentation is part of a speaker series designed to educate the campus and the community about opportunities available through the new degree. The program prepares students to pursue post-graduate careers in academia, or to apply for entry-level positions with federal agencies like the DEA, CIA, FBI, and Department of Homeland Security, where the mission focus is on foreign affairs, threat evaluation, national security, and intelligence gathering and analysis. For more information about the degree, contact Dr. Mark Martinez, professor of political science, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 661-654-2352.
